We tried hanging this big guy several times with the normal hardware on the back of the mount. We couldn’t get him up and stabilized because of the stone on the fireplace. It has an uneven profile. I ordered this from Amazon and secured the hanging disc to the fireplace and added a piece of wood about 1 1/2 inches thick behind the wall disc. We then drilled out the hole on the back of the Mount to place the piece on the mount. We climbed two ladders and placed Canute on the wall disc. So easy and looks great. Very secure and I was able to position him perfectly. I wish we had this to hang him with from the beginning.
